PhD Student
We are currently looking for a PhD candidate.
The PhD student will work on the development, optimization and validation of organ-on-a-chip models for the emulation of human dental tissues. For this purpose, the candidate will combine a wide spectrum of approaches and techniques, including development of organ-on-a-chip devices, co-culture of different cell types, confocal microscopy imaging, flow cytometry and single cell RNA sequencing analysis.
Qualifications
The candidates should hold a Master's Degree in Biological sciences, Biomedicine or Bioengineering, equivalent to Swiss standards. Motivated candidates with excellent training and strong interest in cell biology and hands-on-experience in basic laboratory techniques are encouraged to apply.
Language requirements
Very good command of English (written and oral).

The student will be enrolled in the Molecular Life Sciences (MLS) PhD Program of the ETH / University of Zurich. This project will benefit from collaborations with research groups from the ETH Zurich, as well as state-of-the-art facilities such as the Center of Microscopy of the University of Zurich (ZMB-UZH) and the Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ; ETH/UZH). The salary is in accordance with the Swiss National Science Foundation guidelines for PhD candidates.
